When to choose Descript
Descript makes AV editing text-based: delete a sentence from the transcript and it's cut from the video. Studio Sound, filler-word removal and Overdub voice cloning round out the suite.
For podcasts, interviews and talking-head video, Descript's edit-the-text workflow feels like cheating. Editors doing color grades and complex timelines should stay in Premiere.Read our full Descript review →
When to choose Pika
Pika generates short video clips with a signature line in viral effects — Pikaffects like squish, melt, and inflate — plus scene ingredients that composite your subjects into generated video.
Pika is the fun one — its effects make thumb-stopping social content that serious tools can't. Treat it as a creative toy with real output, not a production pipeline.Read our full Pika review →
